Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 September 2026. This policy explains what personal information Skope collects through this website, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

In short: we collect only what you type into our two forms and, if you use it, what you say to the site agent; the one cookie we set exists solely to keep that conversation together; we use no analytics or advertising trackers of any kind; and we do not sell or share your information with anyone for marketing.

01Who is responsible

Skope is a brand of WiredSouth (Pty) Ltd, which is the responsible party for the personal information described here, as that term is used in the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Enquiries about this policy, or about information we hold, can be sent to the address below and will reach the entity's Information Officer.

02What we collect, and when

The contact form. Your name and email address, which are required, and your company name and message, which are optional. Nothing else is taken from the page.

The onboarding questionnaire. If you choose to complete it, we collect your name and role, email address, an optional mobile number, and your answers about how your business runs — the systems you use, roughly how much work flows through them, what you would like automated, and what you want an agent never to do. You choose how much to write; every question after the contact details can be skipped.

The site agent. If you open the chat window, the messages you type are sent to an AI agent run by Skope, which answers using a language model provided by Anthropic. The conversation is stored in the same database as our forms so that we can see what people ask; the agent itself does not read it back. We do not ask for personal details in the chat; if you choose to use “Talk to a person”, your name, email address, optional note and the last few messages of the conversation are stored as an enquiry, exactly as the contact form would store them.

Limited technical information. To stop the contact form and the site agent being flooded, we keep a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address together with a count of recent submissions and messages. We do not store the address itself, and the hash cannot be reversed back into one. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs.

The site agent sets one cookie: a random identifier, with no personal information in it, that keeps your conversation together for up to 24 hours in the same browser. It is not used to track you across sites or visits. We use no analytics, advertising pixels or fingerprinting.

03Why we hold it

To reply to you, to prepare a proposal, and — if you become a client — to design and build the agents you have asked for. The questionnaire exists for that last purpose specifically: it is the brief.

We rely on your consent, given by submitting a form, and on the legitimate interest of responding to an enquiry you initiated. You can withdraw consent at any time using the contact details above.

04Who else processes it

We use a small number of service providers, each of which processes information only to run this website:

  • Supabase — stores form submissions in a database only we can read.
  • Typeform — runs the onboarding questionnaire and holds a copy of those answers.
  • Vercel — hosts the site and keeps standard server logs.
  • ImageKit — serves the images and video on these pages.
  • Cal.com — used only if you book a call, and then only for the details you give it.
  • Anthropic — provides the language model that the site agent uses to answer. Messages you send to the agent are processed by it for that purpose.
  • Telegram — if you ask to talk to a person, a short alert with your name, email and the last few messages is sent to us through it.

WiredSouth (Pty) Ltd does not sell your information, and does not share it with anyone for advertising.

05Where your information goes

Some of these providers store or process information outside South Africa, including in the United States and the European Union. Where that happens, POPIA requires the receiving party to be bound by comparable protections, and our agreements with these providers are intended to meet that requirement.

06How long we keep it

Enquiries and questionnaire responses are kept while we are in contact and for as long as we may reasonably need them for the work — and afterwards only where law or a live dispute requires it. Conversations with the site agent are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically. Anti-spam records are short-lived and hold no identifying information. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.

07How it is protected

Submissions travel over encrypted connections and are stored in a database configured so that the public website can write to it but never read from it. Only the keys held on our servers can read your information; nothing in your browser can. The questionnaire endpoint verifies a cryptographic signature so that submissions cannot be forged.

No system is perfect. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

08Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you;
  • correct anything inaccurate or incomplete;
  • delete information we no longer have grounds to keep, or that you gave us by consent you now withdraw;
  • stop using it for a particular purpose.

Email keabetswe@skope.co.za and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

09Children

This site is aimed at businesses and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information about children.

10Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Where a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will contact you directly rather than rely on you noticing.
